Woman killed, 20 hurt in Sunamganj nor’wester

Sunamganj: A woman was killed and at least 20 others were injured as a nor’wester lashed Chhatak and Jagannathpur upazilas of Sunamganj on Thursday evening, reported UNB.
The deceased is Anwara Begum, aged around 39years, wife of Sundor Ali of Char Moholla village of Chhatak upazila.
The woman was crushed under the roof of her residence as the house crumpled during the violent storm at about 9:45pm, confirmed Char Moholla union council chairman.
Besides, 15 people were injured and more than one hundred housed destructed at different villages of the upazila during the storm that began around the evening.
Meanwhile, five people were reported to be injured and more than 100 houses destructed during as the nor’wester pummeled neighbouring Jagannathpur upazila on Thursday evening.
