Rajshahi: The case, filed over the killing of Rajshahi University professor AFM Rezaul Karim Siddiquee, has been transferred to the Detective Branch (DB) of police.

Tamijuddin Sarder, additional commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, said the case was transferred to the DB police from Boalia Police on Sunday for a thorough investigation, reports UNB.

Earlier on Saturday, Prof Rezaul Karim, 58, of English department of the university, was killed by miscreants in the city's Shalbagan area while he was waiting for a university bus.

Later in the afternoon, Sourov Hossain, son of the slain teacher filed a murder case with Boalia Police Station.
