At least 1,500 people were killed in last three months across the country, says Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad.

Ershad, who is on a three-day visit to Rangpur, came up with the remark while talking to journalists at his residence Palli Nibash in Rangpur.

‘The union council polls were never held in party line for the last 300 years. The image of the country has been damaged due to the party basis union council polls,’ Ershad said.

Expressing his anger over the killings of Rajshahi University teachers, Ershad said, ‘Four teachers of Rajshahi University were killed. We respect teachers after parents but still we did not see any trial. We do not know what happened.’
