Former army member killed in B’baria
Brahmanbaria: A retired Bangladesh army member was killed by miscreants at Pirbari in Brahmanbaria on Monday night.
The deceased is Bahar Sakra, aged around 45 years, a resident of Phulbaria area of the town, from Birgaon village of Nabinagar upazila.
Local people said a group of miscreants attacked Bahar on a lane in Pirbari area at about 10:00pm and killed him by slitting throat.
Later, local people caught a man, Mamun, while he was trying to flee the scene, and handed him over to police.
The Sadar police officer-in-charge Mainur Rahman said they were looking into the matter.
He might have been killed over money- related dispute, the OC added.
