Tangail: A person on Wednesday was sentenced to life term imprisonment for kidnapping and molesting a schoolgirl at Mirzapur in Tangail in 2014.

The judge of Children and Women Repression and Prevention Tribunal, Sharif Uddin Ahamed, also fined the convict Tk 20,000 in default to suffer rigorous imprisonment for six more months.

Court officials said the convict is Monir Hossain, in his twenties, abducted and raped a Clsss VI girl of Deuhata AJ High School on 29 October 2014.

The victim’s father filed a case with the Mirzapur police in this regard.
