Another Mongla building collapse victim dies
Bagerhat: A man who was injured in the cement factory collapse in Mongla port area on Thursday died at Jessore Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Monday night, reports UNB.
The deceased was Shah Ali Sheikh Shihab, 29 of Gouranbha village in Rampal.
Bagerhat deputy commissioner Mohammad Jahangir Alam said Shihab, who had been undergoing treatment at Jessore CMH hospital after the incident, died at the hospital on Monday night.
Shihab’s body was handed over to his family after postmortem and Tk 20,000 has been provided to the family members of Shihab on behalf of the district administration for his burial, he said.
With the death of Shihab, the death toll from the incident rose to eight.
Seven workers were killed and 53 others injured as the roof of the under-construction cement factory of ‘Sena Kalyan Sangstha’ crashed on Thursday.
Two probe bodies formed to investigate the incident have started their work.
Besides, a case was filed in connection with the building collapse in Mongla port area on Saturday.
