Lakshmipur: Two people were hacked to death by miscreants at the village of Rajibpur of Bangakha union in Lakshmipur Sadar upazila early on Friday.

The deceased are Manik, and Qamrul Islam, both are residents of the village.

The deceased’s relatives said Manik and Qamrul left their residents after receiving unknown phone calls at about 1:15am. They did not return home at night.

Later, local people discovered their bodies near a shop early on Friday morning and called police.

Bangakha union council Chairman Anwar Hossain Kajal said both of the bodies have injury marks made by sharp weapons.

However, the Lakshmipur assistant superintendent of police (ASP circle) Mohammad Nasim Mia said the victims were drug dealers and were wanted in several cases.

The ASP said the duo have been killed following internal feud over drug business.
