A schoolgirl reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her room at Deyara village in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira on Friday (29 April) evening.

Kalaroa police station officer-in-charge Abu Saleh Md Masud Karim said Soma, a class III student committed suicide as her mother scolded her for watching Indian TV serials in the evening, reports UNB.

Police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for an autopsy.
