Moulvibazar: A man committed suicide by taking poison after killing his former mother-in-law over a family feud at Sindurkhan road in Srimangal upazila of Moulvibazar on Saturday.

The Srimangal police sub-inspector Shaheda Akter said Kamal Khan, and Mukta Begum, daughter of Moni Mia, got married ten months ago.

A few days ago, Mukta divorced her husband.

As a sequel to it, Kamal swooped on the house of Moni Mia and attacked Moni, his wife Morsheda Begum, Mukta and Moni’s son Tamim, over the issue at about 6:00am, leaving Morsheda dead on the spot and three others injured.

After stabbing them, Kamal took poison in front of others and died on the spot.

Later the injured were taken to Srimangal Upazila Health Complex.

Being informed, police went to the health complex and recovered the bodies.
