Protest continues at RU for Prof Rezaul killing

Rajshahi: Students of Rajshahi University on Saturday continued their protest programme on the campus for the seventh day demanding immediate arrest of the killers of Prof Rezaul Karim Siddiquee.
The students in their thousands attended a rally in the morning, reports UNB.
Witnesses said the protesters brought out a procession in front of the Department of English at about 10:00am.
The procession ended at the Mukul Mancha in front of Shahidullah Arts Bhaban of the university.
Prof Rezaul Karim, of the RU English department, was killed by miscreants in the city’s Shalbagan area while he was waiting for university bus on 23 April.
Victim’s son Sourov Hossain filed a murder case with Boalia police.
The case was transferred to the Detective Branch (DB) of police.
Rajshahi University Teachers’ Association on Monday threatened to go on a nonstop strike if the government failed to arrest the killers of Prof Rezaul within seven days.
