Chandpur: A truck driver was burnt to death as miscreants hurled petrol bomb at two goods-laden trucks at Chandra and Raghunathpur area of Sadar upazila in Chandpur in the early hours of Thursday.

Three people were suffered burns during the attack. The injured Khorshed, 30, Rubel, 38, and Sharif, 38, were taken to Chandpur Government General Hospital.

Later they were shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital burn unit for better treatment.

Chandpur model police officer-in-charge Abdul Kaiyum said miscreants hurled petrol bomb at the Hariana Ferry terminal-bound truck from Chittagong as it neared Chandra road at about 12:00am.

The driver of the truck, Jahangir, died on the spot.The body was kept at Sadar Hospital morgue.

Police held two suspects for their alleged involvement with the incident from Chandra area at about 7:00am.
