Mymensingh: An Awami League supporter was killed in a BNP-followers attack at East Bhabanipur village at Purbadhala in Netrakona on Thursday morning.

The deceased is A Hamid, 50.

Kulsum Begum, wife of Hamid’s younger brother Kutubuddin, also a witness of the incident, said BNP followers, Shoeb Ali, Ali Ahmed, Nazrul and Bhuitta, beat his brother-in-law with local arms at about 8:00am.

Later, Hamid was taken to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital in critical condition, where he died.

Kulsum claimed the murder took place centring a political dispute.
