11 held over sabotage plan in city
Dhaka: Police detained 11 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Jamaat-e-Islami, Chhatra Shibir, and Hizb-ut Tahrir for ‘sabotage plan’ from different places of the capital during a drive continuing for 24 hours till Saturday morning.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Masudur Rahman said eight leaders and activists of BNP, two of Jamaat-Shibir and one activist of Hizb-ut Tahrir were detained.
They were held for planning subversive activities during the countrywide non-stop transport blockade, enforced by the BNP-led 20-Party Alliance, he said.
