Dhaka: Detectives detained five people along with counterfeit notes worth Tk 35 lakh busting a currency forging racket in the city’s Ramna area on Friday night.

The identity of the detainees could not be known immediately.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Masudur Rahman said the detectives detained five people and recovered forged currency notes worth Tk 35 lakh and fake currency making materials from their possession.

Details of the arrestees would be known at a press briefing of DMP later on Saturday.
