Khagrachhari: Miscreants hurled four crude bombs in three different places of Ramgar in Khagrachhari and also set fire to upazila council auditorium after throwing petrol bombs on Saturday night.

Police said, miscreants hurled crude bombs in front of Timber Traders Association’s office and Ramgar Cinema Hall at about 8:30pm. In other incident, miscreants set fire to the upazila council office by hurling firebomb.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, Ramgar circle assistant superintendent (ASP) Yunus Ali Mia and Ramgar police officer-in-charge Zubeyerul Haque visited the spot.

OC Zubayerul said miscreants conducted the attack to spread panic in the area. Additional security measures have been taken following the attack.

Bangladesh Awami League, Juba League and Chhatra League activists protest against the attack immediately after the incident. Moreover, Awami League and Juba League to organise a protest rally on Sunday afternoon.
