Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Front (BNF) announced two candidates against a post for the forthcoming Dhaka City Corporation election of north and south for the fear of enforced disappearance.

BNF president Abul Kalam Azad declared the names of four contestants for the mayor election in a press conference held in Dhaka Reporters’ Unity on Sunday.

Candidates for Dhaka City Corporation north are workers front convenor Atiqur Rahman Khan and Joint Front convenor Quamrul Islam. Meanwhile, the candidates for Dhaka south mayor post are BNF office secretary Shafiullah Chowdhury and Womens’ Front convenor Nasira Khatun.

BNF president said four candidates will submit the nomination forms, but two of them will withdraw their candidacy just before the election.
