Dhaka: The family of the late Professor Akhlakur Rahman, a noted economist and founding member of undivided Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), on Tuesday urged the government to preserve his memories.

They came up with the demand at a press conference organised by the Akhlakur Rahman Parishad at the National Press Club in Dhaka.

Parishad president Syed Fazlul Haque Lemon, also grandson of Akhlakur Rahman, in a written statement placed a four-point demand.

The demands also include incorporating Akhlakur Rahman’s life and works in school textbooks and placing his statue on the Jahangirnagar University campus.
