Mongla: Abu Taher, a truck driver’s assistant, was recovered in extremis from a sealed container at Mongla port on Thursday night.
A security guard of the Port said a container-laden ship MV ELS from Chittagong port anchored at Mongla dock at about 4:30pm.

Some of the workers while employed at the jetty heard a noise from a container among 300 containers which were released from the ship. They unlocked the container and found Taher in critical condition. Later, they took Taher to Bandar Hospital.

Bandar hospital doctor Prakash Chandra Mandal said Taher lost consciousness being physically weak, but he is out of danger now.

Mongla police said Taher, a resident of Bubumchara area of Anwara upazila, accidentally trapped into a container at Chittagong port.
