5 burned in Gazipur arson attack on train
Gazipur: At least five people suffered burn injuries when miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at a commuter train in Sreepur upazila here on Monday amid the ongoing 72-hour hartal and nonstop transport blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
Witnesses said a group of miscreants hurled crude bombs at the locomotive of the Jamalpur-bound ‘Commuter Express’ train from Dhaka near Sreepur Railway Station at about 5:30pm.
As the train slowed down after the bomb attack, soon a petrol bomb was hurled at the bogie next to the engine, leaving five passengers burned.
The injured were whisked off to Sreepur Upazila Health Complex.
