Bandarban: A local Awami League man was stabbed to death by miscreants at Baishari in Naikkhaochhari upazila of Bandarban on Thursday night.

The deceased is Mang Shailu Marma, vice-president of ward-7 unit of Baishari union Awami League.

The Baishari police investigation centre Sub-inspector Anisur Rahman said a group of miscreants swooped on Mang near Maishari Union council at about 10:00pm while he was returning home from Baishari Bazar.

They stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot, he said.

Later, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital for autopsy.
