Bombing at Shahjadpur
Dhaka: Pickets blasted around 10 crude bombs in the city’s Shahjadpur on the third day of the countrywide 72-hour hartal enforced by the BNP-led 20-Party Alliance on Tuesday morning.
Witnesses said the pickets hurled about 10 crude bombs and swiftly left the scene at about 7:30am.
However, no one was injured in the blast.
In a statement, BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, on behalf of the alliance, called the shutdown programme on Friday as part of its movement for restoring democracy and people’s voting right, alongside the combine’s ongoing countrywide indefinite transport blockade.
