Cop’s wife murder: 2 accused killed in ‘gunfight’

Chittagong: Two accused in police officials Babul Akhter’s wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu murder case were shot to death during a so called gunfight with police early on Tuesday.
The accused are Mohammad Rashed and Abdun Nabi, residents of Islampur area of Rangunia, said the Rangunia Police Officer-in-charge (OC) Humayun Kabir.
The OC quoting Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Detective Branch (DB) said two persons were killed during a gunfight in Thandachhari brick kilns area of Rangunia at about 2:30am. Later, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Rashed and Nabi were arrested from Chittagong’s Boyalkhali area on 21 June, said their relatives.
