Woman, daughter hacked dead

Gazipur: A woman and her daughter were hacked to death in Pabur area of Kapasia upazila, Gazipur on Monday night.

The deceased are Surji Begum, in her seventies, and Mabia Begum, in her fifties, residents of Pabur village of the upazila. Capasia union council chairman said relatives of the deceased discovered the bodies when they found the door of their house open at about 7:00am and called the police.

Police recovered their bodies at about 8:00am on Tuesday.

Police said miscreants hacked Shurji and Mabia while they were sleeping in their bedroom.

The miscreants also looted around Tk5, 000 from the room.

The bodies were sent to Shahid Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The Capasia police said reason behind the murder could not be found immediately.
