Kishoreganj 'attacker' Mukaddil was missing for 2yrs: police

Dinajpur: Shafiul Islam Sohan alias Mukaddil, an alleged militant who was arrested after an attack on police near Sholakia Eidgah on Thursday, had been missing for over two years, police said.
His family members also went into hiding after his involvement in the attack spread around, reports UNB.
Visiting Mukaddil’s house at Dakkhin Devipur village in Ghoraghat upazila of Dinajpur, it was found that it was locked from outside.
Originally hailing from Marupara village in the upazila, Mukaddil’s family has been living at the Dakkhin Devipur village for the last five years, said locals. His father Hai Pradhan, a Jamaat activist, is accused in several violence cases whereby he is on the run.
Mukaddil’s mother and two sisters used to stay at the house. However, they went into hiding after his involvement in the attack spread around on Thursday night.
Ghoraghat police officer-in-charge Nuruzzaman Chowdhury said Mukaddil went missing after passing his Dakhil examination over two years ago. ‘His mother and sisters also fled the house. We’re looking for them,’ he said.
Meanwhile, members of Rapid Action Battalion detained Mukaddil’s cousin Enamul Haque for interrogation.
Commanding officer of RAB-13 CPC-1 camp Major Abdullah Al Mahmud Raju said they picked up Enamul for interrogation over the incident.
