Satkhira: A man received bullet injuries during a ‘gunfight’ with police at Tala upazila in Satkhira in the early hours of Wednesday.
Police claimed, the man, Atiar Rahman Morol, a resident of Lautara village at Tetulia union of the upazila, is a robber and has eight cases against him.
Atiar was taken to Satkhira Sadar Hospital as bullet hit his left leg.

The Tala police said they raided Islamkathi BM College field at about 2:00am where group of robbers carrying arms were gathered with the intention of robbery. The robbers shot bullets and hurled crude bombs at police. Atiar received bullet injuries as police also fired back. Police held injured Atiar while his assistants fled from the scene.

Police recovered a shutter gun from the spot.

Police assistant sub-inspector Selim and constable Al-Amin were also injured during the ‘gunfight’.
