Naogaon: A Bangladeshi national was shot dead by the members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Chakchandi bordering area in Dhamoirhat upazila of Naogaon on early Sunday, reports UNB.

The deceased is Golap Hossain, 33, son of Khairul Islam of Chandipur village in the upazila.

Lieutenant Colonel Ali Reza, commanding officer of BGB-14, said BSF members from Chakrampur camp opened fire on a group of people when they went near the main pillar no 265 (2) early in the morning, leaving Golap dead on the spot.

Later, Golap’s body was handed over to BGB through a commander-level flag meeting held in Chakchandi bordering area in the morning.
