Jhenidah: Police arrested an Islami Chhatra Shibir leader in possession of a firearm and some bullets, jihadi (religious uprising) books and sharp weapons from Erenda village at Kotchandpur in Jhenidah early Tuesday in connection with a sabotage case.

The arrestee was Akram Hossain, 22, son of Alam Biswas and secretary of 6 no ward Chhatra Shibir unit in Sadar upazila.  

Kotchandpur Police Station Officer-in-charge Ahmed Kabir said on secret information, a team of police launched a drive at the village at about 3:00am and arrested him along with one shutter gun, ten rounds of bullet, 15 jihadi books and six machetes.

Two cases were filed with the police station in this connection.
