Bagerhat: A widow was reportedly gang-raped by miscreants at KC Chaltebunia village in Morelganj upazila on Monday night, reports UNB.

Quoting the victim, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Morelganj Police Station Tarek Bishwas said the woman had a love relationship with one Zakir Hawlader, 35, of Pashurbania village in the same upazila.

Zakir called the woman out of her home on Monday evening and took her to a garden at KC Chaltebunia village while a nephew of the women was present with her.

At one stage, Zakir and his four friends violated her in turns.

However, her nephew managed to flee the scene and informed locals.

Later, locals rescued the woman, but the rapists managed to flee the scene, the OC added.

Police is trying to arrest the rapists, the OC added.
