Rakhain temple monk hacked
A monk of a Rakhain temple was hacked by a group of miscreants at Maillapar in Cox’s Bazar town on early Wednesday.
The injured monk of the ethnic community from Arakan of Myanmar is identified as Open Bita, 75.
Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-charge Bakhtiar Uddin Chowdhury said a gang of unidentified miscreants stormed the temple at about 5:30am and hacked the monk indiscriminately, leaving him injured.
Police came to the spot and sent the injured monk to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
Additional policemen have been deployed in and around the temple to ward off any further trouble, the OC added.
