Netrakona: A truck driver was killed after being hit by a micro-bus on Netrakona-Kendua road at Sadar upazila, Netrakona on Wednesday night.

Local people said the deceased, Kamal Mia, in his fifties, a resident of Malni area in Netrakona municipality, was a candidate of forthcoming district motor vehicle workers union election in the post of vice-president.

Police said Kamal was severely injured after the motorcycle he was riding collided head-on with microbus in the Bali area while he was returning from Madanpur.

Kamal died on his way to Netrakona Modern Hospital.
