Munshiganj: Incensed at the death of a pregnant woman for alleged wrong treatment, her relatives vandalised a private clinic at Sipahipara in Sadar upaizla on Tuesday afternoon, reports UNB.

Hatimara police camp in-charge Bikash Chandra Sarkar said Nadia Kabir, 22, wife of Kabir Hossain, a resident of Rampal Suapara village, had been admitted to Bikrampur Clinic and Diagnostic Centre on Tuesday afternoon for going into labour.

Later, Nadia gave birth to a baby at about 1:00pm through a caesarean section conducted by gynecologist Naz Chowdhury.

However, as the condition of Nadia showed a deteriorating trend, she was shifted to Munshiganj General Hopsital where on-duty doctors declared her dead at about 4:00pm.

Outraged by the death, the victim’s relatives vandalised the private clinic, leaving five of its patients injured.

On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under control.

Additional policemen were deployed in and around the clinic to ward off any further chaos.
