2 ‘robbers’ killed in gunfight with rivals in Cox’s Bazar
Police said two robbers were killed in a gunfight with their rivals in Hinla no 14 Bridge area of Teknaf upazila early Thursday.
Identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately, reports UNB.
Teknaf Police Station officer-in-charge Abdul Majid claimed a gunfight took place between two robber gangs — ‘Abdul Hakim Bahini’ led by Abdul Hakim and ‘Shiailla Bahini’ led by Nurul Hakim alias Shialla at about 2:00am.
Police recovered the bodies and two guns and three rounds of bullets from the spot.
Later police sent the bodies to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
‘Abdul Hakim Bahini’ usually commits robbery in the hilly areas and police found its involvement in the Ansar camp attack that left an Ansar member dead in Teknaf upazila on May 12, said police.
