Terming the BRTC as a profitable transport-operating corporation, Quader said the BRTC has earned Tk 243.11 crore during the fiscal 2013-2014, while it has spent Tk 233.53 crore against the operating earnings.

The government has also undertaken an initiative to procure 300 double decor passenger buses, 100 articulated buses and 500 trucks aimed at increasing income, he said.

Replying to another question from treasury bench member M Ayen Uddin, the minister informed the House that the government has a plan to set up driving training institute at every district of the country.
