Wood trader hacked dead in Khulna

Khulna: A wood trader was hacked to death by miscreants in Shalua Kalibari area of Dumuria upazila on early Friday, reports UNB.
The deceased is Shamsul Haque Raj, 32, son of late Abdul Mannan, a resident of Modyodanga Pramanik Para in the upazila.
Rangpur police camp sub-inspector Mizanur Rahman said miscreants attacked Raj and stabbed him while he was returning from Rathmela, a fair, in Shalua Kalibari area in Rangpur union council on Thursday night.
Later, the miscreants threw him into a drain in the area.
Later, locals rescued him. He was whisked off to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at about 1:00am on Friday.
There were several injury marks on the head and legs of the victim, said Md Nasim Khan, officer-in-charge of Aronghata Police Station.
The reason behind the murder could not be known immediately.
