‘Wrong treatment’ kills patient
A woman died allegedly for wrong treatment by a doctor at a private clinic on Thana Road in Muktir More area of Savar on Monday night.
The deceased is identified as Mitu Akhter, 25, wife of Abdul Asad, a resident of Biruliya union.
Victim’s relatives said that Mitu was admitted to ‘Mukti Clinic’ following a chest pain on Saturday afternoon, reports UNB.
Later doctors there suggested she undergo a kidney operation.
Surgeon Kazi Sohel Iqbal of the clinic conducted the operation at about 10:30pm and Mitu died after a few moments.
Incensed by the death, the victim’s relatives threw brick chips and vandalised the clinic.
On information, police rushed to the spot.
Sensing danger, the doctors and other staff fled the scene.
Police arrested Abul Kalam Azad, a word boy of the clinic.
A case was filed in this connection.
