Probe panel formed over Sylhet BCL-jail guards clash

Sylhet: A four-member probe committee has been formed to look into the clash that took place between Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men and guards of Sylhet Central Jail on Thursday, reports UNB.
The jail authorities constituted the committee, headed by Additional Inspector General of Prisons Iqbal Hasan, on Friday, said Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Prisons Touhidul Islam who is also a member of the probe panel.
The other members of the committee are senor jail super of Mymensingh zone Abdul Jalil and jailer of Kashimpur Central Jail Tarikul Islam.
A BCL group clashed with jail guards of Sylhet Central Jail on Thursday evening after there was a delay in the release of former district BCL president Hiron Mahmood Nipur from jail.
During the clash, jail guards beat local journalists, leaving five of them injured. They also snatched three cameras and vandalised one, ransacked several motorcycles.
