Case filed over Arial Khan boat capsize

Narsingdi: An unnatural death case has been filed in connection with the trawler capsize the left 10 people killed in the Arial Khan River at Jongli Shibpur in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi on Saturday.

Raipura Police Assistant sub-inspector Sohel Rana said Fazlul Haque, former chairman of Uttar Bakhornagar union of the upazila, filed the case with the police station on Saturday night, on behalf of a woman victim in the incident.

Ten people, including six children, died and some others went missing as a trawler sank in the Arial Khan River at Jongli Shibpur in Raipura upazila on Saturday.

Nine of the deceased are Mala Begum, wife of Rabiullah, her 8-year-old son Shamrat, and 5-year-old daughter Sumaiya, Rakib, son of Rafiqul Islam, Arjia, daughter of Milon Miah, Zerin, , son of Sundar Ali, Yasin, son of Kuddus Miah, Mazharun Nesa, wife of Fazar Ali of Baraicha village in Belabo upazila and Fulechha Begum, wife of Mia Box of Char Morzal in Raipura upazila.
