Rajshahi: A Rajshahi tribunal on Tuesday convicted a man and sentenced him to death for killing his wife in 2012.

The condemned person is Mujahid, resident of Rajarhata area under Boalia thana in Rajshahi.

According to the prosecution, Nilufar Yesmin, daughter of Ishaq Ali, a resident of Jagirpara village in Charghat upazila, was tortured to death by her husband Mujahid over family feud on 15 February, 2012.

Victim’s brother Dulal Hossain filed a case with Boalia Police Station the following day.

Police submitted a charge sheet accusing Mujahid before the court on 17 July, 2012.

After examining the records and 12 witnesses, Rajshahi Division Special and Session’s Judge Jakia Pervin issued the order.
