Noakhali: A young man was shot to death and two others were injured in separate attacks by terrorists at Hazipur village in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali on Wednesday.

Quoting local people, police said a gang of miscreants, led by Samrat, called Masud, a carpenter while repairing a house in the village and shot him, leaving him injured.

Later, the same gang opened fire on Alo, and Sohel, at West Hazipur, leaving them injured.

Later, the injured were rushed to Noakhali General Hospital where doctors declared Masud dead.

Dr Zahirul Islam, a duty officer at the hospital, said Masud received bullets wounds to the abdomen, Alo to the right hand and Sohel in a leg.

However, Alo fled from the hospital.

Begumganj Police Officer-in-charge Sajidul Islam Sajid said the incident took place following rivalry between two groups of criminals over establishing supremacy.
