Narayanganj: Bangladesh will certainly get rid of militants and the day is not far away when people will sleep leaving the door open, says Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed.

‘This Bangladesh will certainly get rid of militants. People will sleep leaving the door unlocked. The day is not far away. No conspiracy can halt our progress,’ he said while addressing a views-exchange meeting with the business community of Narayanganj at Isdair Shamsuzzoha Stadium, reports UNB.

Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) organised the meeting.

The minister also slammed BNP for raising doubts about the identity of the militants killed in police drive in Kalyanpur area of the capital on Tuesday last.

‘BNP on one hand is expressing doubts whether those killed in Kalyanpur raid by police were militants and call for national unity on the other,’ he said.

Tofail also claimed that those who carried out militant activities in 2013 to destabilise the country and hamper business activity, and the ones who killed people by arson attacks in 2014 and 2015 instead of participating the 2014 national polls are the ones involved in incidents like militant attacks these days.

The programme was also addressed by Narayangaj-4 constituency lawmaker Shamim Osman and Narayanganj-5 constituency lawmaker Selim Osman.
