Comilla: A man was hacked to death allegedly by his drug addict younger brother at Shantirbazar in Nangalkot upazila of Comilla on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased is Mainuddin, a resident of Srirampur village of the upazila.

The Nangalkot Police Officer-in-charge Mohammad Aiyub said Mainuddin’s brother Manik, who was a drug addict, while in a drunken state walked into Shantirbazar on staggering feet on Tuesday afternoon.

Later, as he met Mainuddin in front of a saloon he hacked his brother with a sharp weapon, leaving him injured.

Local people took Mainuddin to Nangalkot Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Police arrested Manik with the help of locals, the OC added.
