Robbers’ hideouts destroyed in Sundarbans
Bagerhat: Members of Coast Guard and Navy in a drive destroyed around 10 hideouts of robbers and their watch tower in Chandpai range of the Sundarbans east zone on Friday morning, reports UNB.
Members of Navy and Coast Guard conducted a special drive named ‘Operation Pirates Hunt’ in different areas of the Sundarbans in the morning and unearthed around hideouts of robbers in Kokilmoni, Hatbaria, Hironpoint, Akram point, Dublar Char area.
With the help of the forest department, the law enforcers set fire to different establishments of the robbers.
Kazi Mahadi Masud, zonal commanding captain of coast guard west zone (Mongla), said the joint drive started on Thursday for eradicating piracy in the Sundarbans and rescuing the abducted fishermen.
