Benapole: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested seven Bangladeshis, including two women and one child, while they were returning to Bangladesh from India through Gatipara border point in Benepole on Sunday night.

The arrestees—Abu Hanif, Mohammad Nayan, and Harun, Prodip Kumar, Protiva, Pusporani, and Asha, — residents of different areas of Khulna and Gopalganj.

BGB Battalion-26’s Benapole company commander Abdullahil Wafi said on information, a team of the border force conducted a drive in the area at night and arrested the seven Bangladeshis while they were trying to return to the country from India without valid documents.

Later, BGB troops handed them over to Benapole Port Police Station.

A case was filed in this connection.
