Bangladeshi killed by BSF on Rowmari border
Kurigram: A Bangladeshi was gunned down by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Rowmari border point in Roumari upazila in Kurigram early on Tuesday.
The deceased is Nurul Amin, a resident of Khetar Char village of the upazila, was a cattle trader, reports UNB.
Abdul Aziz, commander of Datbhanga border outpost, and Mizanur Rahman, ward no 3 councillor of Datbhanga union, said a group of Bangladeshi cattle traders around 15 was trying to enter the Indian territory through the border pillar no 1054 in order to bring cattle early in the morning.
Sensing their attempt, a patrol team of the Indian border force opened fire on the cattle traders, leaving Nurul dead on the spot.
Lt Colonel Mohammad Rafiqul Hasan of BGB-35 battalion of Jamalpur said they had heard of the BGB firing.
