4 war crimes suspects held in M’singh

Mymensingh: Police in separate drives arrested four alleged war criminals in separate places for their alleged involvement in crimes against humanity during the War of Liberation in Mymensingh on Monday.
The arrestees are Abdur Rahim, Jamal Uddin, Abdus Salam Munshi and Shuruj Ali Fakir.
The Kotwali Model Police Officer-in-charge Kamrul Islam said police in several special drives arrested Abdur Rahim and Jamal Uddin from sadar upazila and Abdus Salam Munshi and Shuruj Ali Fakir from Muktagachha upazila.
The arrested will be sent to Dhaka on Tuesday, the OC added.
Earlier, the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Monday issued warrants for the arrest of six people of Mymensingh district for their alleged involvement in crimes against humanity during the war in 1971 as the prosecution claimed to have found evidence of their involvement in war crimes.
