Jhenaidah: A man reportedly died from electrocution at Lebutola border area of Juluni border post (BOP) in Maheshpur upazila early Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Rezaul Islam Khokon, 40, son of Monsur Ali, a resident of Lebutola Paschim Para village in the upazila.

Lt Col Jahangir Hossain, commanding officer of Jessore BGB battalion-26, said Rezaul went to one of his relative’s house at Rajapur village in Indian border on Sunday night.

He came in contact with a live electric wire and died on the spot at his relative’s house around 1am on Tuesday, said the commanding officer.

Later, the body was brought back to his home at about 3:00am.

On information police recovered the body and sent it to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
