Satkhira: A man’s body was discovered in a sack from a waterbody in Gobordari area of Sadar upazila, Satkhira in the early hours of Friday.
Police said the deceased is Hafizul Islam, in his forties, a cattle trader, also a resident of Habaspur village of the upazila.

Hafizul used to import and export cows from India, said the police.

The Satkhira Sadar police said Hafizul went on missing after Ebadul and Malek picked him up from his residence on 7 April in the pretext of importing cows from India.

Primarily it has been thought that Hafizul was murdered for dispute over money.

Police said the body has wound marks in its feet, forehead, and different parts.

The body was sent to Satkhira Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Police detained Hafizul’s partner Ebadul, a resident of Dhulihar village, in this connection. Malek, another partner of Hafizul, could not be traced yet.
