Satkhira: Police in a special drive arrested 42 people, including three activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir, in different areas of Satkhira from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning on various charges.

Satkhira Special Branch (SB) police Inspector Mizanur Rahman said police launched a drive in different areas of eight upazilas and arrested them.

The arrestees were wanted in sabotage cases, added Mizanur.

Among them, 21 were arrested from Sadar upazila, six from Kalaroa, three from Kaliganj, two from Patkelghata, three from Shyamnagar, three from Ashashuni, three from Tala and one from Debhata upazila.
