Comilla: A case has been filed against 22 people in connection with the double murder in an attack by rivals over a previous enmity at Dhanaitari in Sadar Dakshin upazila of Comilla on Friday.

Mehedi Hasan filed the case with Sadar Dakshin Model Police Station accusing 10 named and 12 unnamed people on Saturday night, said Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of the police station.

Earlier on Friday, Jamal Hossain, around 60, and Gias Uddin, believed to be in his forties, were killed in an attack by their rivals over a previous enmity at Dhanaitari in the upazila.

Police said Jamal had been at loggerheads with his neighbour Farid Miah over land for a walkway in the area.

Some followers of Farid Miah, who had been sent to jail by a court in a case filed over the dispute, were released on Friday.

Shortly after they came out of the jail, they attacked Jamal and Gias at about 9:00pm.

Police are continuing drive for their arrest, added the OC.
