PM pays tributes to Bangabandhu at his Tungipara mausoleum

Tungipara: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday paid tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at his mausoleum in Tungipara marking the 41th National Mourning Day and martyrdom day of the great leader.
After placing wreaths, the Prime Minister stood in solemn silence for some time there as a mark of respect to the memory of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman , who was assassinated by a cabal of army men on the dreadful night of 15 August, 1975 along with his spouse and most of his family members.
A smartly turned out contingent drawn from the three services gave state salute on the occasion while the bugle played the last post. The chiefs of the three services were present.
Accompanied by her younger sister Sheikh Rehana, the Prime Minister then offered prayer at his mazar seeking eternal peace of departed souls of Bangabandhu, Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other martyrs of 15 August, 1975 massacre.
Prayers were also offered seeking country’s continued peace, progress and prosperity.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also the president of Awami League along with the central Awami League leaders placed wreaths at the mazar of Bangabandhu on behalf of the party.
Later, leaders of different associate bodies of Awami League placed wreaths at the mazar.
The Prime Minister, cabinet members, party leaders and workers joined a special prayer on the mazar premises marking the National Mourning Day.
